Why do I need a projector screen for my projector?

If you are someone who already owns a projector or is planning on buying one, then one more thing that you will need to give a thought to is whether you need a projector screen.  A projector screen is just that screen which helps you show the content that the projector throws. A lot of people make use of a plain white wall or some other arrangement for watching the videos but nothing works as well as a projector screen. So do you really need a screen for your projector or can you do without it? Let’s find out:

  • Projector screens are developed and designed to serve one purpose and that is to allow you to watch items that your projector is projecting easily and without any problems. Thus it won’t be wrong to say that such a screen is often a necessity, especially to ensure picture quality, correct pixels and proper colors.

  • Even the best projectors for presentations might not be able to produce a good effect on a white wall, no matter how perfect are the settings in the room, for example, total darkness and no reflection on the wall.  Infact, if you own a regular or average projector, the white wall may not work at all.

  • A lot of people believe that buying a projector without a screen is like buying a mobile phone without a charger. The screen enhances your experience; works well for presentations and reduces your reliance on finding a good white wall in your house or office. With a screen, you can entertain as many people as you like but a wall may not be able to serve the same purpose.

  • The surface of a projector screen is made in such a way that it helps to reflect the light which falls on it from the projector but the walls are not designed for this.

  • A wall, a sheet or a blind on the other hand may not have the same texture or surface and hence the amount of light reflected from these things may not be the same.  The sharpness of images must thus get reduced.

  • Moreover, when you use sheets or blinds, wrinkles or folds may form on them and this may distort the image. The same cannot be said about projector screens.

  • Short throw LCD projector or other kinds of projectors are designed to fit the pixels, density, sharpness etc. according to a screen and not according to a blind or wall.

  • While it is true that a lot of people manage well with white walls but it may take a long time to adjust the distance of the projector as well as arrange for total darkness in the room otherwise.

From the above points, you may have realized how important it is to have a projector screen for your projector. If you wish to buy either of these devices, you can log on to
